POSITION: Manager Afternoon Shift - Distribution Centre REPORTING TO: Director of DC Operations LOCATION: Indigo Distribution Centre, Brampton ON IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Overseeing day-to-day management of warehousing operations and staff for the afternoon shift Leading continual improvement efforts to close performance gaps (current performance vs. targets). Liasing with Operations Managers - Days to ensure continuity of workflow, staff and productivity Planning, organizing, and monitoring staffing requirements to meet daily workload. Ensuring productivity targets and other key performance indicators are communicated, understood and achieved. Providing supervisor / team member training, coaching and development on an on-going basis. Promoting and maintaining a healthy, safe and inspiring work environment. Developing individual actions plans for supervisors. Assisting supervisors in developing performance improvement programs for under achievers. Conducting supervisor performance assessments and provide regular feedback. Managing costs in line with budget expectations. Monitoring and taking corrective action to ensure that key performance targets at met. Participating in DC management team strategy development and continuous improvement efforts AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years or more distribution centre or warehousing experience Demonstrated strong leadership skills and line management experience. Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills Good communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of warehouse distribution methods. Competent computer skills (including spreadsheet and word processing applications). Experience with Logistics Pro or SAP systems desirable. CITT, Plog, Engineering or equivalent.
